Give a second life to an old fridge, making it a mini garden bar for this summer!

Home

Old fridge : We are at the gates of spring (although, considering the outside temperatures, we would not say too much). So we will now start to anticipate future barbecues with friends, aperitifs, fires and hot summer nights!

But now, even if you have a garden to invite all your buddies, there is still a problem that you will probably face: the logistical puzzle to keep fresh drinks and food outside, which pushes your guests to enter and constantly go out of the house to go get beer and other merguez in the fridge.

Fortunately, thanks to this super-fridge / giant garden cooler, you will be the star of all barbeucas! You will be able to keep everything you need outside. And best of all, you can use it as a table or mini-bar too!

This DIY idea of Matt2 Silver from Instructables may seem like a tough thing to you, but it’s really easy as long as you know how to plant a nail. You will need an old broken fridge, which you will be able to save from the dump.

Apart from the fridge, furniture making should not exceed forty dollars.

The outer part consists of pallet wood, which you saw at the right size. The fridge will have to be partly disassembled (you will get rid of all the electrical part, the engine and the interior shelves).

You can also bring casters, to make your baby portable, and bring it to friends! Finally, you get a tap and an old PVC pipe.

You will only have to paint and decorate to your liking!

The idea is quite simple, as you will see in the video below: you keep only the carcass of the fridge (which is isolated) to use as a giant cooler.

You place it in a wooden cabinet, made with pallet recovery boards. Finally, you drill a hole in the bottom, in which you attach the PVC pipe itself connected to the tap. This will serve as a drain, to empty the water and keep only the ice.
